Cagayan State University
The Cagayan State University commonly known as CSU is the first and only state run enriching Medical University in Cagayan Valley. This is a popular Medical University in Philippines among the Indian students for its low tuition fee. CSU was established in the year of 1436. CSU’s College of Medicine was established in the year of 1993.
CSU is a comprehensive University with 8 campuses in Cagayan Valley. The University offers variety of Graduate , Post Graduate, Vocational and Health programs. Cagayan State University College of Medicine and Surgery is located in the main campus of Tuguegarao, a small town in Northern Philippines, which 8 hours by Road and 1 hour by flights from the Capital City of Manila. As there is no major hospital in this small town, many students tend to move to Manila for bigger Hospitals for Clinical rotation from 3rd Year onwards.
The CSU College of Medicine regards itself as a center of Excellency among the Medical Universities in Philippines by offering the high quality medical education. The CSU College of Medicine is associated with Cagayan Valley Medical Center, which is a licensed training and teaching agency of the Department of Health. There is a public hospital with quality healthcare facilities, authorized training and teaching faculty thus, providing excellent and extensive medical and health services. Other affiliations include hospitals such as East Avenue Medical Center, Veterans Memorial Medical Center, San Lazaro Hospital and AFP General Hospital.
The campus hosts huge air conditioned lecture rooms for medical sciences. Additionally, overhead projectors and LCDs are available for seminars and lecture workshops for productive learning. The Library is the house of enormous and latest medical books and journals. The college campus also has a restaurant which provides healthy food at a very reasonable price. The College provides separate dormitories for boys and girls. But most of the International / Indian students prefer to stay off campus for convenience of cooking.
